The theme for the celebration is: "Repositioning Community Senior High Schools
for Greater Prospects: The Role of Stakeholders".
Speaking at the launch, the President of E.P.
University College (EPUC), Dr. Cyril Fayose, attributed the slow pace of
development in various ommunity schools to the misconceptions created by the
public about them. He edged the citizens to begin to take ownership
of the school else it would be very difficult for them to improve and
compete with the "big schools" in the municipality.
On her part, the headmistress of the school, Ms.
Peace Abasa-Addo, indicated that it is her vision that government will make the
school a model school in the municipality. She lamented about the abandoned
projects in the school and edge the government to come to their aid.
The headmistress appealed to government to
provide the school with a modern ICT lab and also re-award the school's
abandoned dilapidated dining hall and the 12 unit classroom block funded by GETFUND.
Present at the ceremony were the Chiefs and elders of Tanyigbe Traditional council, Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Hon. Ganyaglo, MP for Ho Central, Hon. Benjamin Kpodo, MCE of Ho Municipality, Hon. Adinyira, Major General Anyidoho (Rtd.), Regional Director of Education, Mr. Boadi Alexander, Assembly man for Tanyigbe Electoral area, Mr. Mawuli Agbortsu, the board chairman of Tanyingbe Senior High School, Mr. Ankudey, the P.T.A. chairman, Rev. Ahorgah John, ICGC Pastor, Rev. Atsabi Ernest and the heads of sister schools.
