Tanyigbe Senior High School took part in cadet drills competition organized by the Volta Regional Cadet for schools in the Central Zone under the auspices of the National Cadet corps, Ghana. The event which took place at Mawuli School on Saturday, 7th July 2018 witnessed four participating schools namely OLA Girls SHS, Mawuli School, Kpedze SHS and Tanyigbe SHS.
These schools displayed a lot of
military drills according to the designed format given them. It was all nice watching these students with
lots of zeal on display. The judges
awarded marks to the various cadet corps according to their performances. At the end of the competition, Kpedze SHS
came first, Tanyigbe SHS came second, Mawuli School and OLA Girls SHS came third
and fourth positions respectively. Certificates were awarded to students for
participation.
This is the first time TASHS has
taken part in this competition and the judges congratulated them for a good job
done.
Meanwhile, TASHS Army Cadet Corps
is faced with a lot of logistical problems such as lack of riffles, boots,
cadet uniforms and accessories among others.
The school is now appealing to individuals, old students, institutions
and co-operate entities to come to their aid in order to lift the cadet to its
highest height since it paves way for the students to join our security
services in the future.
