Ella: Welcome back to TASHS campus news hub. And now to our first story. It is becoming a herculean task for students to find a comfortable place to iron their school uniforms in preparation for classes on Mondays. This condition is making it difficult for students to appear neat which can affect their concentrations in class. A cross section of the students mentioned to our reporter that they have reported to the appropriate authorities and are eagerly waiting for the problem to be solved. We also plead with the authorities to come to their aid as soon as possible.

Solace: The final examination for the final years continues unabated. The Home Economics students will write their practical this week in addition to the entire year group writing their English Oral. We wish them nothing but the best.

Ella: Some Senior High Schools across the country are unable to feed their students due to unavailability of food items. This has compelled such Heads to send their students home ahead of their vacation.

Ella: Do you think this will affect our school too

Solace: I pray not for we cannot go home again after all that COVID-19 has caused us.

Ella: Let us keep praying hard then.

Solace: On Friday, 27th August, 2021, the PTA contracted Mr. Samuel Kugblenu to label the Poly tanks they secured from our payment of the water distribution levy. According to our reporter, the PTA is bent on distributing water to the dormitories as soon as possible. They therefore entreat those who have not paid yet to endeavour to do so in other to help them complete the project. In addition, the PTA also did some repair works on the taps that are not flowing well in front of the school’s kitchen.

Ella: As we reported in our last week bulletin that some business minded girls are selling in the girls dormitory, a follow up on that incident by our One Eye reporter confirms that such girls are still actively engulfed in the act. They have even expanded the business to include new and tempting items, one of which our own reporter claimed to have enjoyed.

Solace: Another group that deserve recommendation is the school cadet. They have been tirelessly training and preparing to make the inauguration of the new school board of directors a success. This crop of students led by able CO and Master Albert Dankwah are leaving no stone unturned in other to make a grandeur of the day and we think they deserve recommendation for all and sundry apparentely.

The sport news is up next after the break.

Ella: Welcome back. Now to our first story. The first set of practical’s for the 2021 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) which commenced a week ago with Visual Art students across the country ends on Friday, August 27th, 2021. Students pursuing French Language are also expected to write their Oral examination today. It is therefore necessary for a serene environment to be created for them  especially during prep hours.

Maureen: Some teachers in the Language Department of Tanyigbe Senior High School have made a clarion call on students to prioritize the use of English Language on the school compound. They have noted that students’ lack of vocabulary with which to express their thoughts in the classroom can be attributed to their preference for the use of local languages on campus. They were also quick to add that the students’ proficiency and competency in the English Language has a bearing on their performance not only in the English Language and other language related subject but also in other subjects.

Ella: Ghana records 1029 new COVID-19 cases as this takes the country’s total active cases to 144,000. The delta variant continues to break regional boundaries. Health experts across the country call on students not to trivialize the virus but rather ensure strict compliance with the safety protocols which includes wearing of nose masks, washing of hands and observing social distance.

Maureen: Mr. Aheto Kofi Mensah has been appointed the new Senior Housemaster of Tanyigbe Senior High School. He takes over from Mr. Wonder Asigbetse effective this semester. Mr. Aheto Mensah looks poised to discharge his duties as he continues to settle in his new office.

Ella: A very shocking revelation making waves on TASHS campus recounts how girls from some houses have turn the dormitories into market centres where they engage in the buying and selling of commodities such as pepper, tomatoes, fried fish and other items. This act has turn the dormitories into fertile breeding grounds for ants.
